Osseointegration is a game changer

The seminar focused on limb restoration and prosthetic technologies. Organized by the Medical Services of the Libyan Ministry of Defense, the event gathered Libyan orthopedic specialists and key figures from the healthcare sector. Osseointegration was in the spotlight — a technology available only in Turkey at Medipol Mega University Hospital and a few centers in the world. Osseointegration means direct integration of the prosthetic device into the bone tissue of the patient, making it safer and eliminating many limitations patients face in daily life.

Patient interaction
Professor Adnan Kara was accompanied by Mundir Alweheshi, the first Libyan patient who had osseointegration surgery. After the seminar, Professor Kara met with Libyan patients he had treated at Medipol Mega University Hospital and consulted with patients who would have surgery soon and talked about their treatment plans and concerns.
