Assoc. Prof. Dr. AHMET ÇETİNKAL

"Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Çetinkal, MD was born in 1976 in Gönen, Balıkesir. He completed his medical education at GATA (Gülhane Military Medical Academy) Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 2000.

Between 2001 and 2003, he served as a military physician at the 1st Armored Brigade Command in Hadımköy, Istanbul, as part of his compulsory service. He completed his residency training in Neurosurgery at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in Istanbul in 2009 and was subsequently appointed to the Neurosurgery Clinic of Kasımpaşa Military Hospital, where he worked between 2009 and 2014.

After resigning from the Turkish Armed Forces, Dr. Çetinkal worked as a Neurosurgery Specialist in various private hospitals. Since 2019, he has been working at the Department of Neurosurgery at Istanbul Medipol University, where he has held the title of Associate Professor since 2022."

Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Çetinkal, MD has received several academic awards, including the Turkish Armed Forces Domestic Education Ribbon Award for graduating with honors from medical school (2002), the First Prize at the 2nd Hydrocephalus Symposium in İzmir under the “Living Brains” category (2007), and the Second Prize of the Prof. Hamit Ziya Gökalp, MD Young Neurosurgeon Encouragement Award presented by the Turkish Neurosurgical Society (2011).
