Associate Professor Dr. Ahmet ÇETİNKAL was born in 1976 in Gönen, Balıkesir. He completed his medical education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 2000. Between 2001 and 2003, he served as a general practitioner under compulsory service at the 1st Armored Brigade Command in Hadımköy, Istanbul.
He completed his residency training in Neurosurgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in Istanbul in 2009 and was subsequently appointed to the Neurosurgery Clinic of Kasımpaşa Military Hospital, where he worked from 2009 to 2014. After leaving the Turkish Armed Forces as a resigned officer (Müstafi Subay), Dr. ÇETİNKAL worked as a Neurosurgery Specialist at various private hospitals. Since 2019, he has been working at the Department of Neurosurgery at Istanbul Medipol University, where he has served as an Associate Professor since 2022."
His academic achievements include the Turkish Armed Forces Domestic Education and Training Ribbon Award, graduating from medical school with an academic degree (2002), the 1st Prize in “Living Brains” at the 2nd Hydrocephalus Symposium in İzmir (2007), and the 2nd Prize in the Prof. Dr. Hamit Ziya Gökalp Young Neurosurgeon Incentive Award presented by the Turkish Neurosurgical Society (2011).
