Assoc. Prof. Dr. ALİCAN TAHTA

Assoc. Prof. Alican Tahta, MD completed his medical education in 2009 at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English program). In 2015, he completed his residency training in Neurosurgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, earning the title of Neurosurgery specialist.

Since 2017, he has been working at Medipol Mega University Hospital, where he continues both his clinical and academic activities.

In his professional practice, he primarily focuses on brain tumors, epilepsy surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and spine surgery. His clinical approach particularly involves the surgical treatment of adult and pediatric brain tumors, meningiomas, glioblastoma, and other glial tumors, structural brain diseases causing epilepsy, as well as lumbar and cervical disc herniations and conditions involving nerve compression due to spinal disorders.

He is also interested in skull base surgery, craniosynostosis, and cases within pediatric neurosurgery.

In his academic work, he focuses on neuro-oncology, epilepsy surgery, molecular markers, tumor biology, and artificial intelligence-supported clinical data analysis. He has more than 30 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed national and international journals, and his work has received over 200 citations in the international literature.

He was awarded the “Best Thesis of the Year” by the Turkish Neurosurgical Society. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society and the Istanbul Medical Chamber.
