Assoc. Prof. Burcu Tunay (Hızarcı) was born on August 18, 1981, in Istanbul. She completed her medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine between 1999 and 2005, graduating with high honors. She completed her residency in Anesthesiology and Reanimation between 2006 and 2010 at the 2nd Clinic of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Haseki Training and Research Hospital. Following her specialization, she actively worked in the fields of anesthesia and intensive care at Ağrı State Hospital, Kayseri Training and Research Hospital, and Yozgat State Hospital. Since December 2012, she has been pursuing her academic career at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation. She was appointed Assistant Professor in 2015 and promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. She currently serves as an Associate Professor and a physician in the General Intensive Care Unit at the same institution. Dr. Tunay has presented at national and international scientific meetings and plays an active role in the education of medical students, resident physicians, and anesthesia technician students. She is fluent in English and effectively uses Microsoft Office programs and scientific literature search tools.
