Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Soytaş was born in Kayseri in 1985. He completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2011 and his Urology residency at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine in 2017, receiving the title of Urology Specialist. He carried out his specialty thesis on 'Modelling of Perfusion (Ischemia) in Kidney Cancer Surgery'.
After his specialization, he worked as a Urology Specialist at Diyarbakır and Bakırköy Training and Research Hospitals. Subsequently, in 2019 he began working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Urology of Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine and received the title of Associate Professor in 2022. With the support of Istanbul Medipol University and TÜBİTAK, he worked for 4 years between 2021 and 2025 on urogenital cancers (prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and testicular cancer) at McGill University in Canada, one of the best universities in the world, and at various major centers in the United States (research fellowship). During this time, while conducting one of the largest Kidney Cancer Genetics studies in Canada and North America, he also continued his work in the fields of Cancer Research Laboratory establishment and Cancer Biobanking and received diplomas. In addition to these studies, Dr. Soytaş participated in the McGill University Uro-oncology (Urological Cancers) Clinical Fellowship program, actively examining patients in Canada for 3 years, working in the cancer surgery clinic and performing open and robotic urological cancer surgeries as part of a team or himself; he earned the diploma and title of Urological Oncology Specialist, achievements attained by very few surgeons in Türkiye. He also passed the European Board of Urology Qualification Examination and obtained the title of FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology).
In addition to his robotic surgery experience in the treatment of prostate cancer, he learned and successfully performed the methods known as Focal therapy (treating only the cancerous area without removing the prostate) — HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), IRE (Irreversible Electroporation) and Cryotherapy — in Canada and the United States. He is one of the very few physicians in Türkiye and the world who knows and applies all 3 of these methods.
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Soytaş is a member of numerous national and international Urology and Uro-oncology associations and has more than 200 papers and articles published and presented in top-level scientific journals and meetings, as well as numerous book chapters. With his genetic research, he was awarded 2 research awards and grants in Canada. In addition, the cancer project he worked on was granted support by TÜBİTAK under the 2219 program.
He currently continues to work in Urology and Uro-oncology at Medipol Mega Hospital. In addition, he conducts work on Cancer Research and Cancer Biobanking at the Istanbul Medipol University Research Center (SABİTA).
By combining his academic knowledge and extensive clinical experience in Urology and Uro-oncology with up-to-date and scientifically based treatment approaches, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Soytaş aims to provide his patients with healthcare of international quality.
