Assoc. Prof. Dr. SERDAR KAYA

Assoc. Prof. Serdar Kaya, MD graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2000. He completed his specialization training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital and received the title of Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist in 2009. His specialization thesis focused on total antioxidant levels in post-term pregnancies.

 As a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he worked at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Ordu University Training and Research Hospital, and Istanbul Training and Research Hospital. Subsequently, he completed his subspecialty training in Perinatology at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a Specialist in Perinatology (High-Risk Pregnancy). After working as a Perinatology Specialist at Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, he has been continuing his academic and clinical studies as an Associate Professor at the Perinatology Clinic of Medipol Bahçelievler Hospital, Medipol University since 2022.

 His professional work focuses particularly on the monitoring and management of high-risk pregnancies, detailed ultrasonographic examination (detailed pregnancy ultrasound), prenatal diagnosis of fetal anomalies, fetal echocardiography, interventional prenatal diagnostic methods, and fetal treatment applications. He performs advanced prenatal diagnostic and fetal treatment procedures, primarily including amniocentesis, chorionic villus biopsy (CVS), cordocentesis, and intrauterine (fetal) blood transfusion. His areas of expertise also include the diagnosis and treatment of placental disorders, fetal growth restriction, preeclampsia, multiple pregnancies, and the management of pregnancies at risk of premature birth.

 He has numerous scientific articles published in international journals indexed in SCI and SCI-Expanded, scientific presentations at national and international congresses, and book chapter authorship. He actively pursues academic studies in the field of perinatology; combining current scientific developments and evidence-based medicine approaches with his clinical experience, he aims to provide personalized diagnostic, follow-up, and treatment services that prioritize the health of both mother and baby and adhere to ethical values.
