Highlights

Assistant Professor Abdullah Kansu was born in Istanbul in 1981. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2007. He completed his specialization in Pulmonology at the Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital of the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Department of Pulmonology at Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine in 2014, becoming a specialist in Pulmonology. He has completed his specialist thesis titled ‘The Effect of Time Allocation on Sleep Quality’.

 Following his specialization, he worked at important healthcare institutions such as Yedikule Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital and Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. In 2019, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pulmonology at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine, and he continues his academic work, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and medical practice at the same university. 

 Kansu, MD has numerous articles published in international peer-reviewed journals (Wien Klin Wochenschr, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, etc.) and national journals; He has authored significant scientific studies on sarcoidosis, asthma, COPD, sleep disorders, acute kidney injury, asbestos-related diseases, lung cancer, and the management of intensive care patients. Closely following current developments and conferences in his field, Kansu was awarded an oral presentation prize at the 2025 National Lung Health Congress (UASK) for his study titled ""A Machine Learning-Based Screening Model for the Diagnosis and Severity Estimation of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. 

 He is a member of the Turkish Thoracic Society, the Turkish Respiratory Research Society (TÜSAD), the Lung Health and Intensive Care Society (ASYOD), and the European Respiratory Society (ERS). In the past, he has held administrative positions such as Assistant Representative of the Turkish Thoracic Society and Board Member of the Lung Health and Intensive Care Society. 

 Abdullah Kansu, MD aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to his patients by combining his academic background and extensive clinical experience in the field of pulmonary diseases with current, scientific approaches.
