Highlights
Born in Diyarbakır in 1984, Atıf Tekin graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2008, having ranked 22nd nationwide in the university entrance exams. He subsequently completed his general surgery residency at the Department of General Surgery, Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. He earned the Turkish Surgical Proficiency Certificate after successfully passing the Turkish Surgical Proficiency Examination. He fulfilled his mandatory service in the earthquake-affected region with great dedication, performing over 400 surgical interventions and hundreds of endoscopic procedures; during this period, he continued his academic development and qualified for sub-specialty training in Gastroenterological Surgery at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital. In September 2024, he returned as a faculty member to the Department of General Surgery at Medipol University Faculty of Medicine, where he had previously completed his surgical training. Dr. Tekin is a member of prestigious national and international organizations, including the Turkish Surgical Association (Türkcer) and the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP), and serves as the Education Coordinator for the International Medical Program at Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Tekin has published numerous studies in national and international journals; he is married and has a daughter.
