Asst. Prof. Dr. SÜMER MÜNEVVEROĞLU

Dr. Sümer Münevveroğlu was born in Istanbul in 1992. He began his dental education at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Dentistry in 2011 and graduated in 2016 as the top-ranking student of his class. In the same year, he was admitted to the PhD Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Institute of Health Sciences, Istanbul Medipol University.

In 2021, he completed his doctoral studies and earned the title of “Doctor” with his thesis focusing on the symmetry analysis of the natural head position using computed tomography data, a critical factor in the diagnosis and treatment planning of dentofacial (teeth, jaw, and facial) deformities."

During his doctoral training, he gained extensive clinical and academic experience in both minor and major oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures. His experience includes dental implantology, advanced implant surgeries, impacted tooth operations, and jaw cyst-tumor surgeries, as well as major surgical fields such as maxillofacial trauma, cleft lip and palate, and orthognathic surgery (jaw correction surgeries). Since 2022, he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Istanbul Medipol University, continuing his academic and clinical practice.

In his clinical practice, he primarily focuses on dental implants, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, and jaw pathologies. Dr. Münevveroğlu has a high level of expertise in 3D dentofacial deformity analysis and digital treatment planning, which are essential components of modern surgical approaches. He actively shares his knowledge in this field with colleagues through scientific training programs. In addition, reflecting his interest in surgical documentation and visual quality, he graduated with high honors from Anadolu University’s Photography and Camerawork program in 2025, developing a multidisciplinary perspective.

Combining scientific productivity with innovation, Dr. Münevveroğlu holds a total of five patents, two of which are registered and three are pending. He has authored 12 articles published in high-impact international journals, one national article, and one book chapter. He has also delivered 28 oral presentations at international congresses and has participated as an invited speaker in numerous scientific events. He is a member of the Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (TAOMS) and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society (AÇBİD).
