Highlights
Surg. Dr. Gülcan Akverdi was born in 1995 in the Pütürge district of Malatya, Türkiye. After completing her medical education, she successfully completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Fırat University in February 2024.
Following her residency, she fulfilled her compulsory public service at Şanlıurfa Hilvan State Hospital. During this period, she was also assigned to Şanlıurfa Central, Siverek, and Suruç State Hospitals, where she actively provided medical care at multiple healthcare centers. Working in high-volume public hospitals, she managed the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of a broad patient population. She gained extensive clinical experience by managing numerous vaginal deliveries, high-risk pregnancies, and obstetric emergencies. The demanding clinical environment enabled her to develop strong skills in rapid clinical decision-making, effective patient management, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
She is currently practicing as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Medipol Mega University Hospital, where she provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services in obstetrics and gynecology. She has extensive clinical experience in water birth, epidural-assisted vaginal delivery, vaginal delivery, and cesarean section.
Dr. Akverdi applies a structured three-session treatment protocol for vaginismus and has achieved high success rates among patients who adhere to the treatment and follow-up program. She continues to provide long-term gynecological care and pregnancy follow-up for many of these patients.
She also has comprehensive clinical experience in sexual health counseling and the treatment of female sexual dysfunction, offering evidence-based and patient-centered care.
In addition, Dr. Akverdi has a special interest in cosmetic gynecology and female genital aesthetics. She has performed numerous procedures, including genital fillers, genital skin lightening, mesotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, laser treatments, and genital aesthetic surgery. Through her experience in gynecologic surgery and genital aesthetic procedures, she provides personalized treatment approaches that address both functional and aesthetic concerns.
