Highlights
Prof. Burak Eren, MD was born in Istanbul in 1979. He studied at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine from 1997 to 2003. He completed his residency training at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Istanbul Vakıf Gureba Training and Research Hospital in 2010, earning the title of Specialist in Neurosurgery. During his residency, he prepared his specialization thesis, titled “Prospective Monitoring of Surgical Site Infection Development in Patients Undergoing Posterior Stabilization with Thoracolumbar Transpedicular Screws,” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Feyza Karagöz Güzey.
He worked as a general practitioner for one year at the Muğla Köyceğiz SSK Dispensary. Following his specialization, he served as a Neurosurgery Specialist at Istanbul Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, Bilecik State Hospital, Private Nisa Hospital, and the University of Health Sciences Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital. He attained the title of Associate Professor at Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital in 2021 and continued his academic, clinical, and educational activities there until 2025. Additionally, he served as the Administrative Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic at the same hospital from 2018 to 2022.
In 2025, he joined Istanbul Medipol University Bahçelievler Hospital. After attaining the title of Professor in 2026, he began serving in the Department of Neurosurgery at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. Since completing his specialization, he has focused primarily on brain, cerebellar, and spinal cord tumors, endoscopic pituitary surgery, aneurysm surgery, and spinal surgery. Prof. Burak Eren, MD has extensive experience in both microscopic and endoscopic approaches to skull base tumors, which are among the most challenging and complex cases in neurosurgery. He also treats conditions such as lumbar and cervical disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors, and spondylolisthesis.
He has delivered presentations and chaired sessions at numerous national and international congresses, symposiums, and panels. He has authored 46 scientific articles and 6 book chapters published in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to presenting dozens of scientific papers. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society and the Istanbul Chamber of Medicine.
Prof. Burak Eren, MD evaluates patients by combining his academic expertise with extensive clinical and surgical experience to develop personalized treatment plans. He performs surgical procedures using state-of-the-art equipment in operating rooms equipped with laminar airflow systems.
