Medical Areas of Interest

For the last 20 years, Prof. Dr. Erkan Soylu has been providing services and training exclusively on nasal health and aesthetics. In this context, he performs rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty and revision septorhinoplasty operations. In primary rhinoplasty, he stands out for his natural and beautiful results in harmony with the face. He has gained a worldwide reputation particularly for the reconstructive rhinoplasty operations he performs in revision rhinoplasty to repair excessively reduced, shortened and upturned noses and restore their desired appearance and function, and has developed original techniques in this regard that have been published in international journals and accepted in the professional community.

Highlights

Prof. Erkan Soylu, MD was born in Elazığ in 1977. After completing his medical education at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2002, he completed his residency at Haseki Training and Research Hospital in 2007 with his specialty thesis on ""Open Functional Neck Dissection Technique: Electrophysiological Status of the Neck Muscles and Spinal Accessory Nerve and Surgical Efficacy"", and received the title of Otorhinolaryngology Specialist. He completed his compulsory service between 2008 and 2010 at Doğubayazıt Dr. Yaşar Eryılmaz State Hospital in Ağrı. After working as a specialist at Elazığ Training and Research Hospital for two years, he returned to Istanbul and in 2012 started working as an Assistant Professor at Private Medipol Mega University Hospital. After completing numerous national and international studies between 2012 and 2017, he was appointed Associate Professor at the same university. From this point on, he focused exclusively on nasal health and aesthetics and carried out many studies in the field of rhinoplasty. In 2022, he was appointed Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Medipol University.

He serves a large number of patients from all over the world in both primary and revision rhinoplasty and, as an otorhinolaryngologist, treats the nose from both an aesthetic and a functional perspective. He has contributed many original techniques to the rhinoplasty literature and, performing one primary and one revision case every day, has gained depth in both primary and revision rhinoplasty. In primary rhinoplasty, he emphasizes that the beautiful nose is different for every face, that male and female nasal aesthetics should differ from each other, and the importance of creating noses that are natural, beautiful and in harmony with the face; he creates noses with a natural, beautiful and functional aesthetic approach. He has specialized particularly in the treatment of revision and extreme revision rhinoplasty cases. With the original techniques he has published, he has gained a worldwide reputation for restoring and reconstructing short, small and excessively upturned noses in revision cases to a normal size and a more natural appearance.

Through his own rhinoplasty team established at Medipol Mega University Hospital, he serves the nasal health and aesthetic needs of not only domestic but also international patients. He offers international healthcare services in which the entire process of international patients, from pick-up at the airport until their return to their home countries, is managed and patient follow-up is ensured. According to current data, with a caseload of thousands, he has to date treated patients from 92 different countries both aesthetically and functionally, specifically in rhinoplasty.

With the Rhinoplasty Academy he established at Medipol University, he has become a name that both provides services and offers training in this field. Under the umbrella of Nosecraft Academy, he provides fellowship training in rhinoplasty to many colleagues from all over the world and organizes the international Nosecraft live surgery meetings once a year. He continues his operations, studies and training in septorhinoplasty and revision septorhinoplasty at Medipol Mega University Hospital.
