Prof. Dr. Funda Öztürk Bozkurt graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 1996 after completing her education at Kadıköy Anatolian High School. In 1997, she began her PhD at the Institute of Health Sciences of the same university, in the Department of Operative Dentistry.During her dissertation period, she spent some time at the Indianapolis University Oral Health Research Institute as a “Visiting Assistant Scientist.” In 2003, she received her PhD degree with her thesis titled “Evaluation of the effectiveness of various methods in the early diagnosis of enamel caries lesions prepared with a microbial model and in the determination of remineralization.”
Between 2005 and 2006, Dr. Bozkurt worked as a specialist dentist at Bayındır Dental Clinics. In 2007, she joined Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Operative Dentistry, as a faculty member to continue her academic career and was appointed Assistant Professor in 2009. She began working at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Dentistry in 2011, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017, and to Professor in 2022.
Prof. Dr. Funda Öztürk Bozkurt is a member of the Turkish Dental Association (TDB), the Restorative Dentistry Association (RDD), and the European Organisation for Caries Research (ORCA).
She has 39 publications (including research articles, case reports, and reviews) published in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has served as a principal investigator in numerous clinical studies. Additionally, she has presented more than 45 papers at national and international congresses.
