Prof. Dr. HÜSEYİN ÖZ

Prof. Hüseyin Öz, MD was born in İnegöl/Bursa in 1953. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1978. He began his residency in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1978, continued it for a year and a half later at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, and became a Specialist in Anesthesiology and Reanimation in 1982. He completed his military service between 1983-1984 at the Kayseri Military Hospital of the Republic of Türkiye then completed his compulsory service between 1985-1987 at the Zeynep Kamil Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, and in 1987 he started working as Chief Assistant in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. He received his Associate Professorship in 1990 and became a Professor in 1996. He worked at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine until 2012, when he retired, and in the same year started working at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine, where he continues to work.

He served one term as General Secretary and two terms as a Board Member of the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation. He also served as the President of the Turkish Intensive Care Society for a period and as a member of its Board of Directors for another period. Furthermore, he is a founding member of the Thoracic Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Intensive Care Society, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors, General Secretary, and Editor of the Society's Journal for approximately 19 years.

He began his career at the Forensic Medicine Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Türkiye in 2003 as the 1st Board Rapporteur, continued as the 1st Board Full Member from 2006 to 2019, and has been working as the 8th Board Full Member since 2019.

Prof. Hüseyin Öz, MD, applies his academic knowledge and clinical experience to anesthesia practices and intensive care patient care to deliver modern, scientifically grounded, and superior healthcare services. He places a high value on the teaching of medical faculty students as well as residents in anesthesiology and reanimation. By participating in scientific groups, he hopes to further the education of professionals employed across the nation.
