Highlights
Prof. Mehmet Ağırman, MD was born in Hatay/Dörtyol in 1984. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Hatay-Dörtyol. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. In the same year, he began his residency training at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. In 2012, he received the title of specialist with his thesis “Investigation of the diagnostic value of ultrasound compared to electrophysiological studies in the diagnosis of polyneuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome in diabetic patients”. In 2009, he worked for 3 months at the Institute for Rehabilitation of the University of Ljubljana in the fields of traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, pediatric rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation. Brain neuromodulation and robotic rehabilitation were among his areas of interest. He completed his compulsory service at Oltu State Hospital between 2012 and 2014. Continuing to work at Istanbul Medipol University, Medipol Mega Hospital since 2014, Dr. Ağırman earned the title of associate professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2020 and the title of Professor in 2025. He received the Turkish Board Certificate in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2016 and the European Board Certificate in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in 2017. He has papers and talks presented at national and international congresses and numerous articles published in national and international scientific journals. He continues his educational and treatment activities at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the management, follow-up and treatment of national and international patients.
