Highlights
Prof. Ömer Faruk Çalım, MD was born in Adıyaman in 1978. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2003 and completed his specialization in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) at Bezmiâlem Vakıf University in 2011. His specialization thesis was on ""Our early results in ossicular reconstruction with universal titanium prosthesis.
Following his specialization, he worked as an ENT specialist at Van Erciş State Hospital. Subsequently, he continued his work at Medipol Mega University Hospital in 2012.
Prof. Ömer Faruk Çalım, MD, who began his academic career as a research assistant at Bezmiâlem Vakıf University in 2005, received the title of assistant professor in 2015, associate professor in 2021, and full professor in 2025. He has been working at the Department of Otolaryngology, Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine since 2023.
He is actively involved in various professional and scientific organizations such as the Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Association, The European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO), The Union of the European Phoniatricians (UEP), the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the Airway and Diseases Anesthesia and Surgery Association. As of 2025, he is a member of the board of directors of the (Istanbul) Turkish Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Association.
He has traveled abroad to enhance his knowledge and experience in the field of pediatric ENT diseases, particularly in airway and swallowing disorders and surgery. In 2016, he attended an airway surgery course at the University of Lausanne and observed the work of Prof. Kishore Sandu. After attending the COSM (Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings) organized by the Ear, Nose and Throat Associations in 2018, he observed the work and surgeries of leading professors in the field, Prof. Robin Cotton and Prof. Michael Rutter, at Cincinnati Pediatric Hospital.
He currently continues his work in the field of ENT and pediatric ENT at Medipol Mega University Hospital.
Prof. Ömer Faruk Çalım, MD aims to provide his patients with internationally recognized healthcare services by combining his academic knowledge and extensive clinical experience in the field of pediatric ENT, particularly in airway and swallowing disorders, with current and scientifically based treatment approaches.
