Dr. Betül Mercan Çiftçi graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 2001. She began her professional career as a general practitioner, working in both emergency medicine and internal medicine, gaining broad clinical experience across different levels of healthcare. Between 2009 and 2013, she completed her specialty training in internal medicine at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital.
From 2001 to 2003, she worked as a general practitioner at Düzce Akçakoca No. 1 Health Center, and from 2003 to 2009 as an emergency physician at Düzce Atatürk State Hospital. Between 2013 and 2015, Dr. Mercan Çiftçi worked as a specialist in internal medicine for the Ministry of Health in Kocaeli. Since 2016, she has been serving as a specialist in internal medicine at Medipol Mega Hospital Complex.
Her clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of adult patients with hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, anemia, infectious diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, liver and kidney diseases, metabolic syndrome, and obesity. Her approach emphasizes chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and lifestyle modifications.
In addition to outpatient care, Dr. Mercan is actively involved in inpatient management, applying a multidisciplinary approach and individualized treatment planning for patients with multiple chronic conditions.
