Spec. Dr. (Specialist Dr.) MELİH AKAN

Dr. Melih Akan was born in Ankara in 1978. He completed his medical education at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 2001 and his residency training in Radiology at the Radiology Clinic of Istanbul Haseki Training and Research Hospital in 2009, qualifying as a Radiology Specialist.

Following his residency, he fulfilled his mandatory state service as a Radiology Specialist at Mardin State Hospital from 2009 to 2010. Subsequently, he worked as a Radiology Specialist at Private Kızıltepe İpekyolu Hospital (2010–2012) and Private Avrupa Hospital (2012–2014). Since 2014, he has been practicing as a Radiology Specialist in the Department of Radiology at Medipol Mega Hospital Complex.

He has extensive experience in various diagnostic imaging methods and applications within the field of radiology. His specialization thesis, titled “Diffusion Tensor Imaging in Acute Ischemic Stroke” (2009), was among the pioneering studies conducted globally in the field of Diffusion Tensor Imaging and received second place for Best Oral Presentation at the Turkish Radiology Society’s International Radiology Congress.
