In the Pediatric Cardiology Department, diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart diseases, acquired heart conditions such as rheumatic heart disease in children, and heart rhythm disorders, which are serious problems in childhood, are carried out by a team of expert and experienced professionals, starting from the identification of heart disease in the fetus in the womb with fetal echocardiography. In the department, all kinds of interventional procedures such as closing heart defects and balloon procedures that can be performed via angiography without the need for open surgery are successfully performed in children. Medipol University Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital is also one of the few centers in our country for cases requiring heart surgery.
Pediatric Arrhythmia Center for Little Hearts
The Pediatric Arrhythmia Center, located within the department, is one of the very few centers in the world that applies all kinds of diagnostic and treatment methods for rhythm disorders in children.
Angiography Laboratories
Medipol University Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital has Mono Plan Cardiac Angiography, Bi Plan Angiography, and Pediatric Angiography Laboratories, all equipped with smart systems and serving patients from premature newborns to the oldest age group.
Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery
At Medipol University Hospital's Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, all types of congenital heart and vascular diseases are successfully treated in premature newborns, older infants, and children. Babies diagnosed in the womb can be treated immediately after birth in the operating room, which is prepared at the same time as birth. In patients, limited incisions and minimally invasive procedures are generally preferred for better cosmetic results in appropriate cases.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Support for Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Patients
In some infants, a hybrid approach is taken in collaboration with the Pediatric Cardiology Department, and patients are treated accordingly. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Cardiology Department work together in the pre- and post-operative monitoring of patients. In addition to patients born at the hospital, patients admitted from outside the city/country are transported to the hospital by air/land, where their preparations are completed in the Neonatal Unit before surgery. Thanks to a specially designed heliport area, patients transferred from outside the city are transported as quickly and safely as possible by ambulance.
